KATIE MARSHALL
Instructor
Teaches: CONTEMPORARY, PARTNERING

Originally from San Jose, Katie Marshall grew up dancing and playing in the California sun. Her love for musicality and rhythm began at Jensen School for the Performing Arts where she studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop. As a member of IndepenDance Company under the direction of Kellye Dodd (Gary Masters, Artist in Residence), Katie added modern, contemporary, and choreography to her training. Since graduating from CSULB with a BFA in dance, Katie has performed with RhetOracle Dance Company, The Satin Dollz, and at The Disneyland Resort, as well as numerous theaters across Southern California. Currently, she is rehearsing for Moonlight Amphitheatre’s upcoming West Side Story. She is eager to join the Academy of Dance family and bring her love and passion for dance to a new group of students. Her class focuses on dancers finding their unique form of physical expression through an exploration of classical modern and ballet principles, combined with contemporary choreography. I cannot wait to meet and dance with every one of you!
